What I’m Loving…

By on October 31, 2012
Here is what I am loving this week!
The Hulk and Spiderman giving each other hugs!

First of all I am loving that today is Halloween and I get to spend it with my favorite guys! Branden, Ace, Brady and I are going to be painting a pumpkin, enjoying the beautiful weather and then going to meet up with Brady’s parents after they get off work and go to a Halloween festival at our church! So fun!

These adorable Winter Wonderland Baby Leg Warmers from my shop Au Natural Baby! They are only $5 for preorders, this is the best price you can get so hurry! Order them today so you can have them for the holidays!
These adorable book slings from Boogie Smalls Boutique (how awesome is that shop name?)! We have one in orange chevron but are thinking of getting more for Ace’s room. Which one is your favorite?

Use code: PIM10 to get 10% off your order!
My next Review and Giveaway from Wise Decor! You are going to love this one. This is our decal for our wall. It looks so awesome!
These super cool Bynto Trays! Is it weird that I want one for Ace even though he doesn’t go to daycare or anything yet? I mean we could totally use this for a picnic, right? And they are only $6.99.
And last but certainly not least I am loving this picture of Ace with my Dad. We went to visit him at work on Tuesday and Ace just loved it!

Ace | Weekend Rewind

Birthday Weekend! Photo Overload!

By on October 28, 2012

This past weekend was probably one of the best ones we have had in a long time. Branden was actually off both days, which rarely happens unless we are going out of town. We had two birthdays to go to so we were very busy! Saturday we went to Ace’s friend Payton’s first birthday. It was Hello Kitty theme and Lindsay, Payton’s Mom, went all out. I wish I had taken pictures of everything because it was insanely cute. Ace got to jump in a bounce house, which he loved.

This kid cracks me up

How cute is Payton’s birthday outfit?

Ace with his buddies in the bounce house

Painting fun! He kept eating it.

Ace and Brody making a huge mess, so fun!
The cute birthday girl!

He loved that straw.

Payton screaming out of excitement. Isn’t her cake beautiful?

Ace loving on his friend

Brody’s so adorable!

On Sunday we had my nephew, Gavin’s, first birthday party. It was Halloween theme and so we of course were going to dress Ace as the hulk. Well, after an hour of trying to find his damn costume we decided it was a lost cause and headed to the party store to try and find something for the party. We ended up getting him this gnome costume. It was so freaking cute on him.

My little gnome and me!

Ace with his cousins Brianna and Adrien in the background

Can you tell he had fun?

Ace with his “cousin” Manon

She was Chuckie!

I was obsessed with her costume lol

Minnie down the slide!

Ace’s turn!

More bounce house fun!

Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics with Ace and his cousin Gavin because my camera died here and right after this Gavin got in the bounce house. I think someone took one of them later on together so I am hoping to get one of them together. All the kids had fun and it was cute seeing them in their costumes. Gavin was a little devil and then had one skeleton jammies later.

So what is everyone else’s littles being for Halloween? Any big plans?

Halloween Guest Post!

By on

We love Halloween at our house!  Aside from Christmas, I’d say it’s our favorite holiday.  The atmosphere is fun and exciting, the decorations are spooky and cool, and the air is crisp and cool.  And unlike a lot of things in life, Halloween has only gotten better since having our kids!

I’ve always been indecisive.  This sure makes settling on a Halloween costume hard with so many great ideas to choose from!  For some reason, I ended up choosing some very interesting costumes, too- from a bar of soap to a nun.  But, of all of my costumes, the one I’ll never live down is “Fat Jasmine”.  I chose to be Jasmine, imagining her in her cute flowy pants and skimpy top.  However, living in Minnesota, Halloween was never warm and my mom mademe wear a coat underneath!  Oh boy.  Gotta love the pink rubber boots and the tired looking Barney next to me…

Fast forward about 18 years.  Now, I not only get to decide what I want to dress as, but I get to decide what to dress the kids in, too (sometimes I get to basically choose Ryan’s costume, as well)!  My son, Brennan, is 2.5 years old, so this year I gave him choices.  He settled on being Marty, the zebra from Madagascar.  So we ran with that idea!  Our 6 month old  (7 months exactly on Halloween) daughter, Bryleigh, is going as Alex, the lion!  I even got some cute plush hats for Ryan and I.  He will be going as Melman, the giraffe, and I have to be the odd one out with my tiger hat.  There is no Tiger on Madagascar, but finding a plush hippo hat in order to be Gloria is much harder than one might think.  So… I’m a tiger.  Come to think of it, I should have looked for a penguin hat!  Anyway, we think the combination should make for some cute photos, at the very least!   I’d love to share some pictures of how adorable my little ones look in their costumes, but I’m a firm believer in waiting until Halloween to show off those costumes!  Stop by my blog on the 31st for some shots!

Trick or Treating was great last year for our little cowboy, but will be even be better this year!  This year people will be able to understand Brennan’s plea for candy and thank you, he’s physically capable of eating more types of candy, and we get to bring little sister along in the stroller, too!  I don’t need to walk the neighborhood, pregnant in my too tight costume!  I KNOW Brennan remembers how to trick or treat.  Just a couple days ago he found his treat bag.  He carried it over to Daddy and sweetly asked him, “Can I have a piece of candy in my bag?”  Yeah.  He’s gonna have fun!

Halloween is great for something else- carving pumpkins!  We’ve had some pretty awesome pumpkins over the years, if I do say so myself.  Check out these ones!

Do I have pumpkin plans for this year? Well, Bryleigh has never had her face carved yet.  Maybe I will carve her and myself and Ryan will carve Brennan and himself!  We’ll be a whole pumpkin family!

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Halloween!

About Me | Blogging Journey

My Blogging Journey

By on October 27, 2012

I am so incredibly shocked at the growth my little blog has made the past couple of months. Because of this I would first like to say Welcome to all my new followers. I am extremely grateful you decided to follow my blog.
I also would like to give you a little look back on the past couple of years to catch you up to now.

2 years ago, before baby!

I first began blogging when my husband, Branden, and I were trying to get pregnant with our first baby. We had suffered a miscarriage and struggling to get pregnant on our own. I had found comfort in others who blogged about similar issues. I decided to start blogging and it became quite therapeutic for me. I never thought my blog would have turned into what it is today.

After a couple of months of blogging and over a year of TTC we got pregnant with our son, Ace! To say we were thrilled is an understatement. All our dreams were coming true. I chronicled my pregnancy and began to really connect with my readers. I received so much love and support throughout my pregnancy. I remember waiting to find out if we were having a boy or girl and getting so many wonderful comments when I posted about our Gender Reveal Party. I then gave birth to my son and found this blog helped me stay on top of his milestones and growth through monthly posts. I can look back on his first year and see when he first sat up or crawled. I can see sweet pictures of my son sleeping with his Daddy and his first trip to Disney.

Once I started noticing more followers were interested in my blog I decided to have guest posters come and blog here for the day. I picked women I admired and knew my followers would also enjoy reading about. I can’t thank these women enough for doing this.

Now here I am with a beautiful little boy, a blog I love and a shop I enjoy stocking full of Mommy and Baby items! I hope you all stick around because I have much more to come.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! Don’t forget to enter the two giveaways I am hosting and co-hosting. Black, White and Red all Over & The Great October Giveaway!

Johnson’s Baby: I’m Baby Lagged!

By on

How Baby-Lagged Are You?
‘Baby lag’ is the term used to describe the tiredness that new parents feel after seemingly endless sleepless nights. The physical and emotional effects are said to be similar to those caused by taking several transatlantic flights, leaving parents with impaired memory and slow reflexes.
Johnson’s Baby has devised an easy, fun test to check how baby-lagged you are – you can take the  baby lag test at the Johnson’s Baby website. If your score does come out high however, there’s no need to despair. The website is also full of great tips for improving your baby’s sleep routine and helping everyone in the family on their way to a peaceful night’s rest.
The Johnson’s three step sleep routine has been clinically proven to help babies fall asleep and stay asleep for longer during the night, and it’s so simple to implement that you can start tonight. The three easy steps include a relaxing bathtime followed by a gentle baby massage and, finally, some quiet time shared before bed.
The Johnson’s Baby Bedtime range, with its naturally relaxing scent, can be a great aid to a bedtime routine. Choose bedtime bath or bedtime wash for bathtime, and bedtime lotion, cream or oil to massage baby with. All of these products use patented NaturalCalm aromas to lull baby into a relaxed state.
A simple baby sleep routine can make a world of difference when it comes to the quality of the sleep achieved by all in your household. Why not try a simple 1,2,3 bedtime routine tonight and see if you can wave goodbye to the effects of baby lag for good.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

What I’m Loving

By on
This week I am loving a lot of fabulous things!

HALLOWEEN!

This old picture of Branden and me 3 Halloweens ago.

HOME!

First of all my amazing Sponsor from My Modern Home has some great modern handmade home decor items. My favorite items from her shop other then my fabulous table runner I got from there are her throw pillows.

I also love these Christmas towels. They are perfect for decorating your kitchen or bathroom for the upcoming holidays!

YUMMY!

I was given a great opportunity to review Veggie Wedgies from Peas of Mind, healthy frozen food for growing kids! First of all I am a total french fry addict so I always hated the idea of Ace having french fries. We never have them in our house and I don’t order them as a side for him when we go out. When I was asked to review these I was very excited at this being a healthy version of something I love. I picked out the broccoli flavored Veggie Wedgies and made them for Ace and Brady. Both the boys could not get enough of them! I even had some and I could replace my french fry addiction with this delicious option. Something else I also love about this companies products is that they are gluten, dairy, egg, and fat free! I have friends who are vegan and I know how difficult it can be to find new and exciting food that is vegan. Peas of Mind is a great option for families on the run and want to feed their family healthy meals
Available in 4 flavors: Broccoli, Carrot, Apply and Cauliflower
* I was able to try this product for free in exchange for this review. I was not paid for a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
ELECTION TIME!
For all you voters out there, I highly suggest taking this quiz. My husband came home and told me I just had to take it and see where I stood with each candidate. It helps you see where each candidate stands on the issues that are important to you.
ACE!
This picture my friend took when we were at the Pumpkin Patch, they have this huge chair there and she caught this picture.

Pumpkin Patch Pictures!

By on October 25, 2012
Last Friday a few friends and I brought our kids to the pumpkin patch. We had all gone last year together and the kids were all so little then that we just sat around talking and got a group shot. It was way easier back then but this year it definitely meant more. Ace had a great time playing and even has a new girlfriend, Payton. Her Mom, Lindsay and I, have known each other since first grade. Actually most of us have been friends since elementary school so it is awesome that our kids are all around the same age. Lindsay brought her camera and took some incredible shots of the kids. This one has got to be my all time favorite picture of Ace. It just shows his personality perfectly. So happy and just ready to go have fun.

Her daughter Payton loved Ace. She seriously was obsessed with him and kept grabbing his shirt and then hugging him. They are probably the most, I guess you could say, assertive of the bunch. They are more fearless too. We have always seen a lot of similarities in them so it was funny how much they connected.
Payton giving Ace a hug.
Doesn’t she had the cutest little smile?
We also had to get a group shot of everyone together.
And to show how much all our little nuggets have grown, here is the picture from last year.
Here is a Ace from last year and then this year.
