Ace’s First Day of School

By on August 20, 2013

Yesterday my sweet, crazy, funny, outgoing little 2 year old started preschool. We had gone to orientation but didn’t get a chance to meet his teacher since she had a death in the family so we got to meet her and she was so sweet. I really liked her. She has a very bubbly and cute personality.

How cute is he in his little uniform?
Ace was playing with the toys in the classroom while we got some more information from his teacher and put all his stuff away. After that we told him goodbye and the poor baby got all splotchy and red and whined a bit for us not to go. I felt bad but thankfully he didn’t freak out.

It was weird not having him home with me for sure. I had to do some studying and cleaning so I got that done and then went to pick him up from school. School pick up was a slight nightmare since his school also has an elementary building connected to it. I am hoping today it won’t be as crazy since it is the second day.

When I got him he actually started to cry, like he thought I was going to leave him there. They said he did have a good day and was really happy. He used to do the same thing at the gym daycare, he would have fun but when he saw me he’d cry so I wouldn’t leave him or something, ha!

We went to the store and picked up some things for dinner and a cake since we wanted to celebrate my sisters birthday. We didn’t get to really celebrate on her actual birthday since Branden was working and she wanted to come by and see Ace on his first day of school. They came by which was fun and Ace was obsessed with the ice cream cake.

Overall his first day was great. I really missed him but I think this is going to be really great for him.

Preschool Orientation!

By on August 15, 2013

Today Ace had his preschool orientation. We chose another Montessori for him to go to and this one is an actual Montessori with all the Montessori ways of teaching which is awesome.

We got there at 9 AM and unfortunately we didn’t meet his teacher because her father in law passed away so she was flying in later today but we had the director explaining everything. The kids got to eat animal crackers and play with the teacher’s assistant and Ace had so much fun.

It was neat to get to do the orientation and meet some of the other parents and see Ace with the kids. He was of course the little comedian of the group and the first to sit at the table for his snack.

We got his uniforms and his little school bag and he is ready to go for Monday! We will be walking him in the first day but after that we will be dropping him off and picking him up in the front of the school which seems so big kid to me. Sigh, my baby is becoming quite the little man.

Little update…

By on August 7, 2013

I am such a slacker on here lately. First Ace got sick, then we went out of town with sick baby and ended up coming home a day early.

It was actually not too bad, we were staying at a resort on the beach and Ace loved the pool and the beach and it kept him from focusing on his sore throat but the lack of sleep at night was enough to say lets go home a day early after playing in the pool for the morning. I just couldn’t handle another night of  a crying toddler in a bed that wasn’t mine.

We headed home Sunday and it was so nice to be home.

Tuesday I had a test to get my Florida Teacher Certification! I have to take 3 tests and this was the first one and I passed! You don’t get a score it is just pass/fail but I was excited to see the pass on the papers when I left. These are the unofficial scores but I will take it! Two more major tests to go. I am pretty sure I will just be substitute teaching this school year to gain experience then I will try to get a teaching job for next Fall. I don’t want to just jump in with no idea what I am doing. I want to really learn about the different schools around our area as well.

Since I am going back to work we decided to put Ace in school. We had been talking about putting him in for at least a part time schedule and I had toured a bunch of local ones and went right back to my original favorite, The Montessori school near us. I just love the way they teach young children. Branden came with me today to check it out and he loved it. We looked at another one near us that had gotten some great reviews but it just wasn’t our style.

Wish me luck on all of our new adventures!! Things might be slow around here till my last test on the 21st since I will be studying and getting things ready for Ace to start school but after that I am hoping to be back to regular blogging.

Happy 4 Years My Love!

By on August 1, 2013

It has been 4 crazy years since I married the man who would be by my side through the best and worst days of my life.

He if the other half of my beautiful son and the other half of my heart.

I never would have thought when we met 6 years ago that we would have been through so much together but here we are and we are blessed with more than we could have ever imagined.

Thank you, Branden, for being the man you are. You are loving, strong, responsible, an amazing father, a Mama’s boy, an incredible husband, a great brother and friend. You are honest and are who you are.

Let Football Season Begin at Buffalo Wild Wings!

By on

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Buffalo Wild Wings for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Ok so I am not the biggest football fan. When I was away at USF in college I loved football games and football season but now I am really only in it for the food. I mean lets be honest, there is no better food than buffalo wings, fries and beer while “watching” a football game.

My husband on the other hand is a huge football fan. I mean every single game is watched it seems like. He has his teams he loves, Go Blue!, but he just loves the sport. So my requirement for the nights I am so not into the whole football scene is going somewhere fun to watch the game. Someplace that I can enjoy being with my boys and enjoy the food.

I am a huge fan of Buffalo Wild Wings. They have so many awesome deals and amazing wings. You can’t beat their Bottomless Boneless Lunch and Wing Tuesday‘s. Don’t forget to check out the new Redhook Game Changer Beer as well!

This is a place my husband, son and I can all agree on and never have to argue over watching the game because he can enjoy the game at a restaurant we both like.
