I love watching my husband and son do “boy things” together. Maybe they are completely boyish things but when it comes to building a Mega Bloks Hot Wheels, to me that screams boy time.

We got these awesome Mega Bloks Hot Wheels and Branden took Ace outside to build them and he couldn’t have been more excited. He saw them on the counter for a couple of days and when the day came to do them he was all smiles.

These Mega Bloks Hot Wheels are made for little guys or girls who love race cars, which my son is a huge fan of. When he was done he took those cars all around the house to race.
I am pretty sure these will be a favorite in our house for quite a while.

Countdown till Ultrasound for Everly!

By on March 5, 2014

UPDATE: Everly is now HEAD DOWN!!! We no longer have to worry about planning a c-section. Hopefully everything is smooth from here on out.

Wish me luck! Today I go in for an ultrasound to check Everly’s position. If she is still breech I believe we will be talking about a c-section. If not then we will just be going forward as usual. I have so much faith in my doctors since they aren’t the types to push inductions, c-sections and other measures. In fact I probably wouldn’t have even known about a c-section had I not asked because she wanted to stay positive she would flip and not scare me till we knew her position this week so I am hopeful either way that things will end up the way they are supposed!
Thank you again for all the support. If I do end up with a c-section I feel a lot better about it after everyone was so supportive and sweet about it.
If you have had a c-section, what are your best tips for recovery and packing for the hospital?

Tacky Box!

By on March 4, 2014

Ace has needed some one on one time with Mommy so we decided to do a little art project.
 photo DSCN2836_zps138c478e.jpg
I had gotten this really cute book called Max’s Magnificent Choice. It came with what is called a “Tacky Box”.

 photo DSCN2797_zps6fc1eaa8.jpg

The Tacky Box is a box where tacky (bad) words go. You write the tacky words on a piece of paper and put them away in the box not to be used again.

 photo DSCN2838_zps07a04d22.jpg

The concept is clever for a parent who is tired of telling their child to stop saying that or that is not a nice word.

Ace had been being really emotional and kept telling me “no, stop it!” and giving me a pouty look. I even said “I love you.” and he gave me a look and was about to say stop it but stopped himself. Poor guy is a hot mess the past couple of days.
So move on to our little project. After that I said you know what lets go outside and do a project. I grabbed his tacky box and some markers and let him have at it. He had so much fun decorating his box.

It totally changed his mood.
After that we read the book Max’s Magnificent Choice. He thought the book was great and the animation is really cute. The little monkey Max goes from using Tacky words and not having any friends to learning that he needs to use nice words in order for people to want to be around him.
This book is great for teaching little ones how hurtful words can affect others and even yourself. If you are not kind to others than who is going to want to play with you?

The book was a bit on the long side for Ace but the fabulous pictures really kept his attention. I also didn’t really like that there was words that he had never heard before like “fatso” were in there because I felt like he would then repeat it. Those were my only real draw backs for this book. I did love that it came with the Tacky Box for Ace to decorate and make his own.

This book also comes in a girl version (Margo).

I was given this book to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not paid for this review.

Weekend Rewind…

By on

This past weekend we had so much fun.
We took Ace to A Day Our With Thomas.

Ace and me on the train

He is by far Ace’s favorite toy so when we saw they were coming to town we knew we had to take him. We dropped Ashlyn off at my cousins’ so we could spend the day with just him.

Thomas!

There was so much to do there. You ride on a train that has an actual Thomas car in the front. So cool!
You could also walk through an old train as well. They had Sir Topham Hat there but I unfortunately didn’t get a picture of that. There was an area with bubbles, play dough, bounce houses, balance bikes and lots of food. All the activities were free which was really great. I highly suggest taking your child to it when it comes to your town if they love Thomas as much as Ace does.

Sunday we went to the beach. We got there around 10:00 and made it a good hour and a half before we left, ha! It was hard because Branden’s leg is still healing so he couldn’t go in the water with Ace and I would try to bring him in but he was being a maniac and running around and then trying to have me hold him by his arms and it just was not working out with this belly. Branden and Ace played in the sand and Ashlyn and I hung out for a bit watching the waves. She was so relaxed.

 photo 1922444_10102590113333961_989601384_n_zps5b989fed.jpg

A little later some little girls were playing near us and Ace dumped sand on one of their heads and we were done. It wasn’t a lot thankfully and didn’t get in her eyes but I was just so aggravated he did it. He wasn’t even trying to be mean just being funny and it’s not cool!
We headed home and got the kids to nap. Ace did not nap long enough and was totally emotional after his nap. He has been emotional since Friday. I need to see if he is napping in his new class at school. They moved him up to the older classroom and I have a feeling he isn’t napping. We don’t get a daily report anymore since he is potty trained and we have a calendar of his activities but the nap thing is what I have been wondering about after seeing him Friday and today so emotional and overly tired before bedtime.

ANYWAY later that night I was having some pain and could tell Everly has definitely moved down more. My belly looks a lot smaller so I am guessing she is getting ready to head out soon. I mean we still have 3 weeks till her due date and she could still be breech, we find out Wednesday so we will see!
