An Easy and Yummy Smoothie for Your Picky Eater

One of my biggest struggles with one of my children is that she is a picky eater. And it’s not like a typical picky eater where she only likes junk food. No, she likes healthy food but she will like something one day and it will change the next day. Trying to buy things that she actually likes is hard because of this reason.

There are very few things she has liked that we have been able to stick with. One of which is milk. I think milk is still her comfort drink like when she was a baby. She even still likes drinking it out of a sippy cup over a regular cup. If we ask her what she wants to eat she will actually say she just wants milk. Come on, girl, you gotta eat!

Since she is a big time milk drinker (my other two are good with one glass a day and thats about it) my best friend suggested making her smoothies. This way she can still get her milk fix while adding in fruits and some spinach.

This discovery has been a huge life changer for us with her. I don’t feel guilty about her “just drinking milk“. Since this is a smoothie she really enjoys we try to make it as healthy as possible by using Horizon Organic Grass-fed Milk. It is also really delicious!

What you need to make this easy Smoothie…

Blender (I use this Hamilton Beach one)

1 cup mix of Frozen Fruit (I pick ones with spinach already added)

  • We have tried a combo of these
    • mango, green apple and banana
    • banana and strawberries

1/4 cup Frozen Spinach (see above to make it easier on yourself)

1 cup Milk (I use Horizon Organic Grass-fed Milk)

1/2 cup 100% Juice

Throw everything into the blender and you are done! If you need to make it a thinner consistency try adding a little bit more juice.
