Another Er visit

By on

This past week has been so hectic. My classes started back up and I go Tuesday, Thursday and Friday then babysit Monday from 8am to 6pm and Wednesday from 8am to 6pm then from 7:45 to about 10 or so then Thursday night babysit around the same time except this Thursday it was 7:15 to about 11:45. Well by Thursday night I was so sick. I thought I had gotten over the cold I had but it seemed to be back in action on Thursday. My friend Ali from class said she had a fever and felt horrible so of course I got whatever she had. I didn’t sleep at all Thursday night so I called my doctor and made an appointment and missed my classes on Friday. I was given an antibiotic and told I could take Robutussin for my cough. I went home slept and woke up feeling worse. I had a bit of a fever at 101.1 and just couldn’t eat or drink anything. Then by that night forget it, I was a mess. I woke up twice and threw up, which was basically nothing since I had barely eaten or drank anything. I kept getting really hot and achey all over. The next morning my Mom came over and called my doctor and he called back and said go to the ER since you are pregnant. You don’t want to risk anything. So we went. They gave me fluids, Tamaflu and some Tylenol with codeine to help with my cough and so I could sleep. I finally felt better after all that and was able to go home. I have felt a lot better since but still have a terrible cough. I feel a bit tired still but at least I am not aching all over, that felt like the worst part in a way.
As for everything else, I am doing ok. I have the 12 week NT scan on Thursday! I am incredibly excited about that. I need to do an 11 week update but I probably won’t do a belly pic since I am in bed but I basically look the same.

Ultrasound!

By on January 11, 2011
About 11 weeks

Today I had an appointment and it was with a new doctor. He rocked. I really liked him. He was so sweet and concerned and I think I actually like him more then my previous doctor. Anyway they did an ultrasound since I was in the ER and had a “threatened miscarriage” and everything looks amazing. It was the most incredible thing to see this baby. He was moving his legs and kicking like crazy and waving one hand while the other was behind his head. So cute! So far this has been the best experience during this pregnancy so far!
I also started classes today and so now I am exhausted. I go next week for the 12 week NT scan. I hope that goes well.

Feeling more normal!

By on January 9, 2011

So the weather has finally started to get warm again. Today it was about 75 degrees, which in my opinion, is perfect! I went to Target and got a strapless dress. I had bought one last year in November and hadn’t had a chance to wear it since it had been cold but I wore it today and it was the perfect thing to wear. Since my jeans are getting tight it is nice to wear a dress. I went ahead and got another one in another color and I might buy one more but this one in black. The ones I have now are purple and turquoise. It will be nice to wear for spring.
We are going to the Keys on Friday for the night. I love going to our house there. It will be nice to get away but now that I am thinking about it traffic might suck since it is a long weekend and we won’t be leaving till after I get home from class. I guess we will see what time we actually leave. Either way spending Saturday there will be nice. My friend Lisa is also coming down with her dog so we will probably get together on Sunday and go to the dog park with all the dogs.
Tonight my family is going out to eat for my sister in law’s birthday. That should be nice. My sister is really sick so she isn’t going. Poor thing! We all got sick this week but she seems to have gotten the worst of it.
Not to much else has been going on. Tuesday morning in my doctor appointment! I am very excited about it. I am a little nervous too since it is a different doctor then I usually see. Hope he is nice!

10 week update

By on

How far along? 10 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 2lbs

10 weeks
9 weeks

Maternity clothes? Bought jeans but haven’t worn them yet.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Have issues with sleeping because I have a cold but even before that it was not the best.
Best moment this week: This week has been kind of crappy since I have been sick.
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: hmm I guess Menchies frozen yogurt
Gender: Still think boy
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Innie
What I miss: Not feeling super fat all the time
What I am looking forward to: Doctor appointment that got moved to Tuesday

Weekly Wisdom: Sleep now
Milestones: Making it past 10 weeks!

Right now I have a cold and it is awful. Last night I was up all night with a sore throat. I only took 1 tylenol at 1AM then another at 5 and then went to the Minute Clinic at 9AM and she told me I can take two if i need. I haven’t needed to but if I can’t sleep tonight I might have to. I think not sleeping is making it worse. I did sleep from about noon to 5 today. Branden has to work from 6 to 2am and he just called and thinks he has a pinched nerve. Poor guy, if he is in pain something must be wrong. He never complains when he is in pain or sick. I am hoping it goes away or else we will be heading to the ER.
I am excited for my doctor appointment on Tuesday. It got rescheduled because my doctor is sick so I have to see another doctor. Class also start on Tuesday so I go to the doctor then have class all day. I am not looking forward to that. I just want to hear the baby’s heartbeat to make sure he or she is ok. I also have anther ultrasound on the 20th for our 12 week NT scan. I can not wait. I think we will get a good picture of the baby. I hope we can find out what we are having. I have this insanely strong feeling we are having a boy so I kind of want to know if I am right lol. Everyone else thinks girl except Branden, he also thinks boy but both our Mom’s think girl. Either way we are going to be so happy. I also just want to start calling this baby a name and not baby all the time. If we can’t find out I won’t be to upset though, I know we will have to wait till the 20 week one to know for sure anyway and even then you can get wrong results.
Not to much else has been going on just work and now school starting. I promise to update more!

Cloth Diapers | First Trimester | Pregnancy

Cloth Diapers!

By on January 3, 2011

Ever since my first pregnancy, that sadly ended in a miscarriage, I have known I wanted to do cloth diapers for my baby. I love doing things that are environmentally awesome and good for my future children.  Cloth diapers seemed like a no brainer for me.

Ever since I have been looking at many different brands and types. I am not a huge nut about covers so that wasn’t my main concern. I didn’t care how cute they were so I focused mainly on what would be the easiest to use for myself and other family members that may watch the baby.

My first thought was Gdiapers. They seemed really easy and a good option for using cloth or disposable inserts in case you are on vacation or having a babysitter. They seemed to be gaining popularity and just over all seemed simple but I am not 100% set on them. I may buy a few for babysitters or back ups.

I went looking further and found Flip diapers. These are so far the top runner. I love that they have a plastic type cover so you basically only need a couple covers and you don’t have to throw those in the washer you can wipe them down unless they get very gross from a poopy diaper but as long as they don’t get soiled you just change the inserts. I think that seems to be the easiest option yet. I think the pocket ones seem nice but the fact that you have to wash each cover over and over again seems like you would end up doing a lot of laundry which kind of prevents the purpose of saving the environment in my opinion. I would rather buy a bunch of inserts and have maybe 4 to 6 covers (not 100% sure on how many you need at first) and only need to wash the inserts maybe 2 times per week instead of every other day which I have seen people say is a pretty common washing cycle for cloth diapers. I could be wrong on this though so don’t hold me to it. I am by no means an expert but so far this seems to be what we will be getting as our main diaper system.

I am not opposed to other diaper systems because I am sure we might want a few cute covers but overall on a daily basis that is not going to be the main concern. If anyone has an tips or uses Flip’s and can give me pointers on how many covers to buy that would be awesome.

Oh and on another cool note the covers can be worn from newborn to the end of potty training! Talk about saving money!

Welcome to the world baby Colton!!

By on December 31, 2010

Last night my cousin Trina gave birth to her first baby. It was so exciting for me because she is only 7 months younger then me and our babies will be about the same age difference.  His name is Colton and so precious. I can’t even get over how perfect his little face is. She had text me yesterday telling me they thought he was going to be 9lbs! I told her he needed an eviction notice ASAP. She said she had to go back later in the day to see if she was going to have him soon. They ended up doing a C-section due to a stress test and his size. He ended up being 7lbs 15ozs and 19inches long though. I felt so bad for Trina because she looked like she was in so much pain when we got there to visit. It really scared me. I know either way you are in pain but her mom said he thinks the after part is worse with a c-section because she wasn’t in that much pain after having her girls and I think she is probably right. All of last night and today I just kept saying I can’t wait to hold him. I got there and Ash was like “Brenna can hold him first because that is all she has been talking about.” I got some cute pictures of him too.

This makes me even more excited to have our little baby. I can not wait till the babies are old enough to play together. We also told our family friend Tina, who was there with her husband James, that we are expecting when we were leaving and she was so excited and cute. I love her, she has the cutest personality. Her and her husband have been married over 20 years but got married young and so they are just the cutest couple and still so in love and Ash says Branden and I remind her of them, which made me really happy. I can only hope we are still that much in love and into each other 20 years from now.

Been avoiding this…

By on December 30, 2010

I think I have been avoiding my blog because of the ER visit. I am just afraid to really get into this pregnancy and something else go wrong and lose it. I am trying to stay positive and felt pretty sick today and I know that is a good sign so I am trying to stay positive but I also don’t feel like posting much.

I have an appointment next Friday with my doctor so I am looking forward to that. I think Branden has off and will get to go with me. I also have the 12 week NT ultrasound on the 20th. My old neighbor is doing it and I had asked if it was possible to tell the gender that early and she said it just depends on the position. I don’t care what we have but I almost just want to see if my feelings are right. I think it is so strange that I feel like this baby is a boy and have had no real feelings that I am having a girl.  I always wanted a daughter so badly first. I would joke about not wanting a boy but after having the miscarriage and trying for over a year I can not even imagine being disappointed by either gender. I get so annoyed now when I see people saying they don’t want a certain gender. I think I just feel like if you lost your baby tomorrow would you not be as upset if it was the other gender? Probably not. You would be just as upset and just as distraught over losing that baby.

Not to much else is going on. Tomorrow I am having lunch with one of my best friends which will be nice since I haven’t seen her much lately. I think Branden and I are also going to go to a movie and then NYE is the next night! We aren’t doing anything major this year so we are probably just going to The Cheesecake Factory with my sister, brother and sister-in-law and maybe their kids then not sure what else. My sister also rented Easy A so we are probably going to watch that again. Woot! Woot!
Alright BED TIME!

8 weeks/ ER Visit

By on December 23, 2010

Happy 8 weeks and 1 day to my precious baby.
Today has been quite a day. I had to take my dog Tyson to the vet to have his teeth cleaned and I was so nervous about it because they put him under and he breaths funny. He did fine though!
Then I am at home around 1PM watching 16 and pregnant. Crying the whole time as this poor girl tries to decide on whether to give her baby up for adoption. I decided to take a break and take the dogs out and go to the bathroom and wipe and it’s bright red! I freaked, started crying hysterically thinking this is the end. I call my doctors office, no doctors in but the nurse says it could be old blood leaving your body from all the hormones since there is no cramping or clots. I didn’t believe her so I call my Dad to take me to the ER since Branden was at work and about 45 minutes away. He takes me and poor guy, he looked so worried but tried to keep a strong face. My Mom and sister also came because my family is nuts and that seems to be what we do when we find out someone is going to the hospital. I get checked in and they do blood as I am crying hysterically still. Bran gets there and thank God. What a man! I love him even more for just being there. We finally get to go to the ultrasound room and see our beautiful baby. He had a heartbeat! He measured 8 weeks 1 day. I am convinced by the way that this baby is a boy. There was an article about placenta/ yolk placement and if its on the right side there is a 97% chance the baby is a boy and left a girl. This baby was on the right and everything seems to point to boy. I can not explain how insane it was to see this baby’s heartbeat after freaking out thinking he was gone. I was praying God please let this baby have a strong heartbeat and it was there. Measuring perfectly. My HCG numbers were good as well. Please little baby stay strong and hold on, we love you so much and Daddy was so happy to see you today for the first time.

How far along? 8 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: None
Maternity clothes? Bought a Tis’ the Season to be Pregnant shirt for Christmas Eve!
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: It’s bad
Best moment this week: Seeing my baby’s heartbeat today
Movement: To early!
Food cravings: nachos
Gender: Can’t help but think Boy still
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Innie
What I miss: Nothing
What I am looking forward to: Doctor appointment on the 7th!
Weekly Wisdom: Relax, don’t assume the worst.

Happy Holidays!

By on

I have been a bit MIA lately. My In Law’s came to visit for a few days and then we were busy getting the house back in order and then I worked Monday which I usually don’t and Tuesday and Wednesday so I have been worn out from the long nannying days. I am feeling a bit sick right now and anxious. My baby

Tyson is having his teeth cleaned at the vets tomorrow and I am nervous. He is 7 and he breaths weird. I am hoping him going under will be okay. They are also X-raying his face because he has a bump that hasn’t gone away and we want to rule out cancer since he one time sneezed blood. He is my precious sweet little guy so say a prayer for him that all goes well tomorrow.

As for the holidays, my parents are having a Christmas Eve party and I may announce to our family that I am pregnant. I bought a shirt that says Tis the Season to be Pregnant but I am not 100% sure yet. That day though Bran and I will be doing our own Christmas since he has to work on Christmas day. I am so bummed. I am not that excited for the actual day but Chirstmas Eve should be fun. Hope everyone has a great holiday!
