FREE Summer Reading Reward Chart Printable!

By on June 15, 2017

Hey guys! Hope everyone’s Summer has been going well. So far ours has been a blast. I had lined up activities everyday for the kids so we wouldn’t be stuck at home all day. So far we have been to the fire station, Chick-fil-A and Park Avenue Gymnastics for open play. It has been nice being able to spend time with our friends before we move. It’s definitely been hard thinking about leaving everyone.

So back to these Reading Charts. I wanted to make some type of reward chart for the kids so they would be motivated to read each day. In Summer it can sometimes be hard getting them to sit down, relax and read. I made these printables so you can easily hang them up and keep track of your child’s reading progress. Just print and you can have your child color the squares in, put stickers in them or punch holes. Super easy!
To get the printables just go HERE for the pink and HERE for the blue. I hope you all like them!

Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

By on May 10, 2017

This post contains affiliate links.
Mother’s day is quickly approaching and if you have yet to get your Mom or Wife a gift you might want to get on it.
I love Try Amazon Prime because it ships quickly so definitely use that if you are in a time crunch.
Want to try it for FREE for 30 days you can HERE

For the Coffee Loving Mom
A Keurig, this is actually what I asked for for Mother’s Day. I am over constantly cleaning out my coffee pot, coffee cup and filter. This makes it easier. I use it at work so I knew it was time to upgrade. I love that there are reusable filters you can buy as well. This way you go through less trash. It obviously it still one more thing clean but makes me feel a little better about my carbon footprint.
For the Jewelry Loving Mom
My all time favorite jewelry is from LacKore Couture. I have a lot of her pieces and they are amazing. I even have a toddler bracelet for Ashlyn. My favorite has got to be the any of her bangles and initial necklace. She also makes custom pieces so if you would like a custom piece you can email her. Branden did this for me two Christmases ago.
For the Fit Mom
These Nike shoes are on sale for under $75.00. I really like these because they are great for going for a run but running errands and don’t look bulky or ugly. They have a sleek look. You can’t go wrong here!
For the Mom Who Loves to Cook
This everyday mixer is so cute!  It’s bright and cheery and the price is amazing. If you want the top dog of mixers, though, you can always go with the Kitchen Aid mixer. I love the variety of colors.
For the Bookworm Mom
I miss the days of being able to read a good book without a thought. Now it takes forever to get through a book so I need one that will hold my attention and keep me coming back for more when I have time. I am a huge fan of all Emily Giffin books! I am reading her latests book, First Comes Love, now and can not put it down.

Happy Thursday!

By on February 16, 2017

Hi there! Hope everyone is having a nice week. Ours has been really good. The weather is perfect so we are really enjoying it before it gets swelteringly (is that even a word) hot.
I feel like I don’t get to update what we do on the weekends anymore and I need to keep up with that so I can look back on our memories. I looked at an old post the other day and it made me really wish I was writing more posts about what we have been up to but with work it has been hard so here is what we did over the weekend.

Saturday Ace had a scrimmage game to get his team ready for their first game next weekend. The sun was brutal so I am in the market for a chair with a cover. I feel bad for the kids running around in all their Lacrosse gear but as long as they are having fun and taking regular water breaks they seem to be fine.
After that we headed home and the kids played in the pool and with water toys. Ace was so excited to finally be able to get in our new pool. Watching them play got me really excited for Summer time. I love how relaxing Summer is. Long, slow days are just around the corner.
The rest of the day the kids colored and played around the house. I was finally able to clean out their playroom and get rid of a bunch of random toys. It feels good to purge unused items.
The kids and I made cookies and watched a movie and called it a night around 8:30.
Sunday Branden and I went on a date! I was so excited since that is super rare for us. Usually when we have a babysitter it is so we can run errands or grab a quick bite to eat because we are so tired by the time we go out. It’s terrible. Maybe that should have been my New Years Resolution? Date the husband more, ha! Poor guy. One day it will be easier to get out so I try not to stress it because I know this time with little ones is going to go so quickly. Every day it is on my mind how fast it goes so I try to just sit and watch them like I am taking mental pictures of them at this age.
Anyone else do that? I am sure it’s a Mom thing to constantly try to hold on to those moments and memories.

That is all for now but I hope you all have a great rest of the week and don’t forget to enter my giveaway I have going on right now!

Fall Family Fun!

By on October 12, 2016

This post is sponsored by the Goldfish brand, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Who else is totally in love with Fall? It feels like the true start of Fall when October hits. There is so much to do and it all seems to be centered around family fun.
Here is a list of our favorite Fall activities!

1. Pumpkin Patch. Every single year we get together with friends and go to the pumpkin patch. We have a Farmer’s Market here that has a painting area and the kids love it. We started this tradition of going with friends when Ace was just a baby. It’s so cool to be able to see how much all of our kids have grown and changed through the years.

2. Decorating. Once September starts I am all about Fall decor. Who doesn’t love pumpkins all around the house? The most fun is decorating for Halloween. My husband usually goes all out. It’s one of his favorite things to do.

3. Scary movies. Ok so maybe they aren’t very scary but we love watching Halloween movies together. The kids get some yummy snacks, their favorite is Goldfish crackers and the orange goes quite nicely with Halloween, right? Then we cuddle up with cozy blankets, turn out all the lights and watch a Halloween movie.

4. Hayrides! Last year we took the kids to a Fall event and they had hayrides. When I was a kid we did hayrides every year during Christmas time but it was really fun to get to go during the Fall festival. The kids loved it.

5. Baking. Nothing screams October or Fall than baking. I love baking cookies for the kids, sure they are just the packaged ones because I am the worst cook but whatever works!
What are some of your favorite October activities?

Now you can submit your Fall Fun Goldfish Take HERE for a chance to win $1,000 and other prizes!

A new Gilmore Girls Featurette! Who will be watching?!

By on October 6, 2016

Tell me I am not the only one counting down the days till the Gilmore Girls comes back to Netflix on November 25th?! I am beyond excited about this. Way more excited than I was about Fuller House. I mean this show was one I watched religiously in high school. I actually started rewatching it on Netflix because I just had to relive the amazingness of the show. It seriously brings me back.
If you haven’t seen it already there is a new teaser out there of the show and you must watch it!

So more importantly who do you think Rory is with now? Dean? Jess? Logan? I am hoping for Jess or Dean. I never really liked Logan. And I kind of am dying to see what Lane’s character is up to now. I mean it was hysterical when she had the twins. I also wonder if they will have Luke’s daughter on the show. So many things I can not wait to see!

Who else will be watching?!

Pasta Face Traditions!

By on September 11, 2016

I think every parent has the one picture of their baby covered in pasta sauce. I know those were always my favorite pictures to get of the kids when they first started eating spaghetti. You can not beat those big, sloppy smiles. It’s such a sweet little tradition to have with each child. Even as they have gotten older I still loved getting pictures of them covered in spaghetti sauce.
Now at 2 and 5 years old my children’s favorite meal is spaghetti. My all time favorite sauce to buy is Ragu. I usually add diced tomatoes but now with their new Homestyle Thick & Hearty sauces there is no need. This their thickest sauce yet and it has bold, tasty flavors. They are delicious and filling. Since kids can be picky at times their Thick & Hearty Traditional is still a great option.

It’s such a simple meal but it is one that feels like I am going back to my own childhood. If you know me than you know my favorite food growing up was spaghetti. I still love it and it reminds me of my Mom. Can’t beat that!
You can now get Ragu Homestyle pasta sauces at my favorite store ever, TARGET! ha! Make sure you try all 5 flavors. You will not be sorry. If you need recipe help you can find a variety HERE. All are super easy and under 30 minutes.
“Thank you to Ragu for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me pass on my family traditions.”

A Letter to Myself

By on August 22, 2016

Today’s post is sponsored by Gerber® Soothe, which believes less crying for a baby means more smiling for all.

Dear New Mom to 3 under 3,
Right now you are in the thick of it. You have 3 under 3 and are feeling like a failure but let me tell you what, you will get to the other side of this. Everly will stop with the colic at around 6.5 months. The constant crying is her only way to tell you she’s miserable. Sure it seems like forever but once she does she is going to be the happiest, funniest baby ever.
Even though your dreams of breastfeeding this little one longer than Ace was squashed you will eventually realize you do what you have to to survive having so many little ones and it all works out just fine.
I know you are wondering what you got yourself into and wonder if this will ever be easy but trust me when your girls are 2 and Ace is 5 you will be so happy with their closeness in age.
It’s not always easy and having a baby that cries what seems to be non-stop. She is your toughest baby to date and colic is no joke. But she will teach you so much about yourself and how strong you are as a Mom. Swaddle that little girl, turn out the lights and rock her with the sound machine on because that will be the perfect combination to get her to calm down and sleep. It will be yours and her formula for happiness in those crazy days. In those moments you will see the beauty of all of this.
Love,
Yourself in 2.5 Years
What was your formula for happiness with your little one?! Comment with your trials of having a newborn to help other Moms not feel so alone in the new stages of motherhood.

How to Survive a Baby with Colic

By on March 7, 2016

First I want to thank  Gerber Good Start Soothe Infant Formula and Gerber Soothe probiotic Colic Drops, for sponsoring this post! I had two babies who suffered from colic and it was very difficult. It made me feel like a failure as a mother because I couldn’t sooth my baby. Looking back I know there were certain pieces of advice I wish I could give myself to help me through that time.
1. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. This is key. When your baby is constantly crying it can really wear on you. It’s ok to ask for someone to come and help you with the baby. People love holding babies so ask a friend or family member to come by and get a little break, even if it’s just a well needed nap.

Everly being worn in the K’tan

2. Wear your baby. Wearing my colicky babies was a life saver. They needed to be held constantly which meant I always had my hands full. Once I started using my wrap it made my life so much easier.
3. Feedings can be tough. With Ace and Everly feedings were so tough with them. Everly would scream through bottles. She just was so uncomfortable all the time. With Ace his colic didn’t last as long so I was still nursing him. With him he found comfort with nursing so he was on me all the time. It was night and day with those two. I wish I had known about Gerber Sooth products. They have Gerber® Soothe Colic Drops for breastfed babies and Gerber® Good Start® Soothe Infant Formula for formula fed babies. Something I could have used for each of my kids.

4. Get expert advice. Whether you feel that is your doctor, mother, or best friend, don’t be afraid to ask them for suggestions. I know it helped me by asking my seasoned Mom friends on what I could do to help my little ones through this colic phase. The best advice I remember getting was wear them and vacuum. The sound and movement helped sooth them. Such good advice!

5. Get out of the house! Just going for a walk and getting fresh air can do wonders for your and your baby. The motion of the stroller (or if you wear your baby, the motion of you walking) will hopefully help your little one stay calm so you can get a good walk in.

Did you have a baby with colic? What advice would you give a new Mom dealing with a fussy, colicky baby?
